Wheylite is a delicious, nutritious, low fat, low kilojoule food drink based on whey, with added calcium, iron and vitamins. Whey is the substance remaining when the fats and proteins (excess to human needs) have been extracted from whole milk in the cheese making process. the whey is dried in a two stage process that ensures a higher quality powder.

CALCIUM
Cow's milk has a ratio of calcium to phosphorous of 1.16 to 1, while Wheylite has the more favourable ratio of 1.4 to 1. Wheylite provides calcium in an absorbable form for children and adults.

CHOLESTEROL
One of the fears of the stressful lives is our blood cholesterol level. Wheylite contains no animal fat, which raises cholesterol. Instead we use vegetable fat and very little, only 1.2 grams per 100mls. The World Health Organisation recommends that 30% of our daily intake should be fat. Of this, 10% should be monounsaturated, 10% should be polyunsaturated and 10% should be saturated. These three are present in Wheylite.

BLOATED FEELING AFTER DRINKING MILK?
The complaints of a bloated feeling, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, wind and a colicky feeling are often the symptons of a reaction to milk. Many people have compained that they cannot stomach the taste or handle the allergic reaction when they drink milk.

SUGAR & LACTOSE
We know that too much sugar is not good, but we must have some sugars. In Wheylite, the carbohydrate content is mainly made up of Maltodextrins with a reduced lactose content. In the case of lactose intolerance (Alactasia), the sufferer lacks an enzyme that would normally convert the lactose (the sugar of milk) into glucose and galactose.

PROTEIN
The main protein in full cream milk is casein. In the cheese making process most of the casein ends up making the cheese itself. The whey that is left contains the protein Sodium Caseinate which has proven to be much less likely to provoke an allergic reaction. When you compare Wheylite to whole milk, it has only 36% protein and just 30% of casein content. This is good because most people eat far too much protein.

WHY WHEYLITE?
So when you sum it all up, the reasons you should consider changing to Wheylite are that it has no cholesterol, has half the fat of full cream milk and a lower lactose content. That makes it far less likely to cause the allergic reactions like runny noses, sinus or coughs that affect both children and adults. Whole milk has 11 allergens while Wheylite has only 3 allergens. But best of all, it tastes great and can be used anywhere you would normally use milk.

Since 1982 Wheylite has been used as an alternative to milk and to help over two hundred thousand Australians with dietary conditions.
